Heartland of Portales is an 80 bed long term care facility certified under both the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Heartland is the only nursing facility in a county of approximately 12,000 people. Heartland plays a vital role in the community through various avenues including preparing the meals for Meals on Wheels. Heartland has also been recognized by the state licensing and certification as the model facility for their activity program.
